Assessments are being held for Rookie and Minor softball registrants on Saturday, March 13 at Extra Innings in Nashua. Arrival times for assessments are being staggered to reduce the wait time in line and minimize parking and possible overcrowding at Extra Innings. 

Arrival times are as follows:

All Rookies -  4:00

All Minors - 4:30

PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME FOR YOUR SCHEDULED GROUP. If you cannot make assessments, please let the Softball Coordinator, Kathy Harvey, know as soon as possible. If your daughter assessed last week at the baseball assessments, there is no need to come again on March 13th.

Please be sure to check in upon your arrival. Please make sure you have completed all stations before leaving.

COACHES CLINIC SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, MARCH 11 AT RMMS, 6 PM!

Brookline Cal Ripken has scheduled a free clinic for all potential baseball and softball managers and coaches. The clinic will be held at RMMS on Thursday, March 11 at 6 pm. The clinic will be run by Dean Collins. Coach Collins has provided us with instruction for the past several seasons with excellent results. The clinic is available to adults only, whether or not you have signed up to manage or coach.

This clinic will focus on the principles of teaching children how to Throw, Catch/Field and Hit. It is highly recommended all TBall and Rookie managers and coaches attend. Our goal it to provide quality, consistent instruction to our players, from TBall thru Babe Ruth.

In an effort to keep everyone up to date and streamline the information process, the following information is being provided.

TBALL - will meet only on Saturdays beginning Field Clean Up Day, 4/11. Meetings last 90 minutes, including practice and a game. Meetings will not be scheduled in conjunction with April vacation or Memorial Day weekend. The last meeting will be the Saturday 6/19. TBALL ROSTERS WILL NOT BE RELEASED BEFORE THE 1ST WEEK OF APRIL.

ROOKIE BASEBALL - will practice once during the week beginning in Mid March and play a game on Saturdays beginning Opening Day 4/17. Meetings will not be scheduled in conjunction with April vacation or Memorial Day weekend. The last game will be the Saturday 6/19.

MINORS/MAJORS BASEBALL - will meet 1 - 2 time during the week (either practice or game) plus a game on Saturdays. Practices may be scheduled during April vacation. Intertown games will take place with Hollis. Championship games will be played in early June.

ASSESSMENTS - All BASEBALL players registered in Rookies, Minors or Majors should plan on attending assessments. Assessments will be held on Saturday March 6, 2010 at Extra Innings in Nashua. The process will begin at approximately 3:30 pm. Stay tuned to your email for specific time assignments by family. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND ASSESSMENTS PLEASE ADVISE YOUR COORDINATOR PRIOR TO ASSESSMENTS.

PLAY UP POLICY - Any player requesting to "play up" to the next level before age eligible MUST notify the appropriate coordinator PRIOR to assessments. Children will be allowed to play up only if they have played at least one season at the previous level and demonstrate ability near the median of the "play up" level. Any 6 year old requesting to "play up" to Rookie Baseball will be assessed at a separate place and time (TBD). Please forward this requests to me ASAP.

All levels are in need of managers, coaches and team parents.

MANAGERS/COACHES - a clinic will be held in early March (date TBD) to provide skill training and drill. A coaches meeting will be held after assessments and before the first team practices to provide guidance on team organization and equipment. TBall clinic and meeting will be held later in March or early April.
